Description: A GE LED-PAR20 3 LED, 7 Watt light bulb that goes into a standard AC light socket.  You can get this bulb at Home Depot for about $36.00.  A little pricey, but not too bad if you remember how efficient it is (70% more efficient than incandecent), how long it will last (20,000 hours) and the fact that its the future!  Check out the data sheet at the GE website here.      
   
Carbon Savings: At 1.44 lbs of Carbon per kWhr (www.carma.com) and 19 lbs of carbon in each gallon of combusted gasoline (www.slate.com).  Lets see how it stacks up against a 50W equivalent incandescent: 
  • 0.31 lbs of carbon curbed each day, assuming 35W saved operating 5 hrs a day.
  • 113 lbs of carbon curbed every year, operating 365 days a year.
  • $12.76 of savings per year, at $0.20 $/kWhr.
